They're recognized at airports. They're mobbed by frenzied fans. They entertain more than a million people every year. Trained to run, jump and retrieve at incredible speeds, and to jump and soar to unbelievable heights, they have become . . . the world's most popular dogs. They're ... THE SUPERDOGS . . . and they cause Poochmania wherever they go! No matter how famous they become, THE SUPERDOGS always retain the ability to touch the hearts of their inter-generational audience. Trained to run at incredible speeds ("faster than a speeding bullet") and to jump unbelievable heights ("able to leap tall doghouses at a single bound"), their athletic achievements are truly astonishing. They're great athletes . . . they're great entertainers . . . they're great dogs . . . but most of all they're great friends and the family pets of over 250 amateur trainers who star in the many kinds of Superdog Shows and Productions across Canada and the USA. From "The Bow Wows of Broadway" . . . to "Hollywoof" . . . to "Star Woofs" & "The Wizard of Paws!" . . . they are the canine version of Ice Capades or The Harlem Globe Trotters. THE SUPERDOGS is suspenseful, dramatic, exciting, and fun. The upbeat music, lighting and non-stop action keeps kids and their families laughing and cheering, clapping and screaming throughout the entire show. From the hilarity of "Flying Carpets" to the excitement of "Tunnel Relays" to the heart-warming "Kids and Puppies," THE SUPERDOG SHOWS are family fun for kids of all ages, from puppies to grandpaws.

The Cranbrook Recreation Complex is pleased to announce the arrival of the SuperDogs Internationale to perform in Hollywoof on Saturday, June 15, 2002 with two performances at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. This will be an exciting addition to the Sam Steele Days celebration!

Skate the nation

TORONTO, February 15, 2002 - Sensational skating stars from the 2002 Winter Olympic Games will be touring Western Canada through the month of May as part of HuskyTM Skate the Nation. Heavily-favoured to win the gold medal in Salt Lake City, Alexei Yagudin did not let anyone down, skating an exceptional long program, earning several 6.0s in presentation and 5.9s across the board in technical merit. The Gold Medal was presented to this exceptionally talented young man. Skating fans will have the opportunity to see the magnificent athlete up close and personal when the

HUSKY Skate the Nation tour arrives in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan in May. Tickets go on sale Saturday, February 23 at all local box offices. Husky Skate the Nation also features fifth place Winter Games finalists and UNited States National Pair Champions Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman, Olympic Silver Medallists, World Champions and European Champions Anjelika Krylova and Oleg Oysiannikov, World, European and Russian Champion Maria Butyrskaya, four-time Canadian Champion Jennifer Robinson, and U.S. Bronze Medallist Angela Nikodinov. Leading these highly decorated skaters will be one of Canada's most respected athletes-two-time Olympic Silver Medallist and World Champion, Brian Orser.

"I am thrilled to be working with such a talented group of skaters", stated Brian Orser. "They will have just gone through the Olympics in Salt Lake City and the Worlds in Nagano, so the pressure will be off. The skaters can let loose, pick their favourite music and skate for the sheer fun of it. The audience gets to see the skaters having fun in a relaxed atmosphere, which makes it really great for the fans too! It'll be an evening to remember-I guarantee it!"

Every elite skater began their Olympic journey at the grassroots level, in smaller communities where the arena was the hub of activity. Husky Skate the Nation provides these skaters with the opportunity to reach back to their roots and say thank you to those skating fans that have supported them along the way.
